Fresh Green Juice in Chicago: Healthy & Gluten Free
Send to Kindle
I have been on a quest to find places that juice fresh vegetables and fruits for quite some time. Believe it or not, I actually like the taste of raw juice from foods such spinach, kale, parsley, cucumbers, broccoli, carrots, lemon and ginger, to name a few.
Therefore, I decided to discover the raw juice bars in downtown Chicago and the Lincoln Park area that offer fresh green juice alternatives.
I taste tested 7 different green juice locations including:
Karyn’s on Halsted
Peeled at North Avenue and Sheffield
2 locations at 900 North Michigan – Forty Carrots and Herbal Gourmet / Equinox Juice Bar
Chicago Health Foods on Maple and State Street
Brian’s on Lake Street and Michigan Avenue
Protein Bar with numerous locations in the city.
Hands down, the Protein Bar is my favorite location for tasty fresh green juice with the Hi-5 and Market juices at the top of my list. I’ve also tried a number of their breakfast dishes, salads, soups and quinoa bowls.
Since I’m gluten and dairy free, my favorites so far are the signature quinoa healthy chicken parm without cheese and the white bean and kale soup with tofu. Both are excellent!
It was great from my perspective to see that the majority of their offerings are gluten free and can be made vegan upon request. This is also indicated on the Protein Bar’s menu and nutritional information.
So for any of you in downtown Chicago looking for delicious juices and healthy meals, I would highly recommend the Protein Bar! They are also in the process of expanding to multiple locations in Washington DC as well! Enjoy!
